About Stuart
Stuart A Weinzimer MD, is Professor of Pediatrics at the Yale University School of Medicine and Clinical Professor at the Yale School of Nursing.
He graduated summa cum laude from Yale University with a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics, earned his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completed his pediatric and endocrinology training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
In 2013 he was one of the co-founders of the Yale Gender Program, and since 2025 he has served as its Medical Director. He has been the Principal Investigator for over a dozen NIH- and foundation-funded studies of technologies and interventions to improve the care of youth with diabetes, to study the effects of diabetes on brain development in children, and more recently, to characterize metabolic effects of gender-affirming medical care.
He has made Guilford his home since 2002, where he and his wife have raised their two daughters and one dog. When he is not working he may usually be found at a piano or on the dance floor.
