About Josh

Facing the double-edged sword of adversity has been a defining aspect of Josh Rushworth's life and career. Growing up gay created social barriers for Josh as a teenager, and his lifelong journey through self-acceptance has been marked by confronting his internalized homophobia. This experience has granted him a drive to question his own implicit biases and constantly challenge himself to evolve. His self-exploration has driven him to embrace his creativity and approach his endeavors with multiple perspectives in mind.

Josh is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in public health education, technology, and nonprofit work. As a Public Health Educator for the Town of Guilford and a Technology Specialist for Green Planet Company, he brings his expertise and passion to help make the shoreline communities he calls home more equitable. Raised in Doylestown, PA, he moved to Guilford, CT, in 2020 and now resides in East Haven. Josh's commitment to community wellness and sustainability is evident in his work and his dedication to creating inclusive and supportive environments.
